Many New Jersey lighthouses, including this one, take part in the annual NJ Lighthouse Challenge. Then for this fall weekend one can climb it at night.

The Lighthouse Hunters Experience:
We've been to this lighthouse several times during the summer and winter. We have also seen it from a cruise twice. To see this lighthouse and several other off-shore lights in the Delaware Bay we went on the Cape May Whale Watcher both times. The first time we motored 80 miles in 4 ½ hours seeing the Cape May, Brandywine Shoal, Fourteen Foot Bank, Miah Maull Shoal, Cross Ledge, Elbow of Cross Ledge and Ship John Shoal lights. The second time we motored for 6 ½ hours seeing all those lights again plus the Harbor of Refuge and Delaware Breakwater lighthouses. We loved these boat trips and even had a buffet lunch with shrimp cocktail and dessert while on the boat. Often when we are here we'll see bird watchers walking around.
Photographed it: several times, the last visit was on January 10, 2011
